Q) Going from the UK - not fussed about travel arrangements. Looking for somewhere cheapish and relatively close with lots of things to see. Where would you go for five days (can be Europe or UK)? I like exploring, but I don't want to hire a car so a city break with lots of stuff nearby on foot would be good.

A) Holland is beautiful and also lots to do and see!Amsterdam is a must for smokers and non smokers as it really is a very INTERESTING PLACE!

I want to go back to work after 10 year break. How should I start in accountancy?

Q) I have a career history in finance (10 years in the City followed by 6 years as a finacial journalist). I have been away too long to return to either past careers - even if I wanted to. I thought of retraining as an accountant technician. Which qualification is more useful to start with CAT or AAT?

A) I did AAT when I left college and am now studying CIMA. I found AAT very broad and very useful. Its also more recognised by employers than CAT. AAT gave me a very good grounding on which to base my career. However if you worked in finance for 10 years you may find it too easy and boring?

If you were taking a city break alone, where would you go?

Q) I'm planning a trip later in the year, it will just be me, so I wondered where you would go alone if you could go anywhere.

A) Having been to Venice several times I can tell you that I felt quite safe (even though I was with other people) and I would consider going there on my own, although it's more of a place to experience with someone special because of the atmosphere. Salzburg of Vienna are also lovely cities that I have visited and felt safe. My next citybreak will hopefully be to Carcassonne in France, which is supposed to be the best preserved medieval city in the world and I can't wait to see it. Be careful though won't you and research plenty on the areas to avoid not just the tourist hotspots to visit. Also, my best peice of advice would be to look like a tourist as little as possible! ideas for a 3 -4 night city break in November?

Q) Any ideas for an out of season city break 1st week in november? we are getting married 1st November and are leaving a big honeymoon till next year but want a nice 3-4 night break. been looking at Italy but not sure where would still be good around this time and happy to take any ideas of any other places. say a budget of £500 for flights and hotel.

Can anyone suggest a decent city break in the UK i can take my other half for her birthday.?

Q) we are looking for somewhere to stay and places to go on the razz, she has been pregnant for the past two years with alittle break in the middle so she deserves a good birthday. All suggestions greatfully received.

A) You didn't say if you already lived in England. Bless that is a really lovely idea, I'm sure you will be appreciated!!! I would suggest a quieter town which is near a bigger city. McDonald hotels are gorgeous. Stratford-upon-avon is lovely. Ive just been there and its fab! Not too expensive, nice hotels, food, and a great area for night life and the shops!!!

trying to decide where to go for a summer break, not a beach holiday?

Q) I did a 2 city break in Brussels and Bruges 2 years ago, so was thinking of something similar. Any recommendations , which 2 european cities would be good to take in in 1 week. Not in Ireland or the Uk, as I live in Ireland and been to the Uk loads of times. I save them for the weekends.

A) Definitely Berlin - absolutely fabulous city, great shops (designer and department stores), the zoo is fantastic....no cages to be seen (great no matter what age you are), the city is also very historical. We took a train out to one of the concentration camps - it was a very moving experience. I live in Ireland also, so I know you can get some great deals on flights. If you do decide to visit Berlin, check out the Swiss Hotel - it's so central to everything, and one the "better" side of the city, in my opinion anyway. I know you asked for 2 suggestions for one week-sorry I can't be more specific on other cities close by, but for another trip, I would recommend Barcelona. My advice would be to stay away from La Rambla and base yourself nearer the port/beach. A truly wonderful city also. Have a good time, wherever you decide to go.

Europe Trip Spring Break next year!!!!?

Q) So, I'm going on a trip to Europe with my French class next year during Spring Break. We are going to go to London, Paris, and Madrid. Anyone want to hook up there? haha. we're going to go to a club in Madrid on the last night, so....any guys between 15 and 17...get ready cuz here i come! haha. But any reccomendations on any good restaurants in any of these cities? Thank you loves!

A) Wow...you're in for a treat! Wear good walking shoes because London is a superb walking city. Bring a good map of the city and begin. Be a happy tourist and first hop on one of the major red double decker tour buses which afford you a perfect overview of London and you can "hop on and off" as often as you please...some for two days! Know London has many beautiful parks which can be your oasis when needing a rest. Kensington Gardens in one of the world's wealthiest areas - See Princess Di's Kensington Palace and shop Kensington High St. and wander up Church St. for boutiques and such. Nearby: Royal Albert Hall, Science Museum, Natural History Museum and Victoria & Albert Museum. Hyde Park connects to Kensington Gardens. Explore Chelsea for boutiques as well. Shopping streets: Oxford, Bond, check for weekly markets...BUY "TIMEOUT LONDON" weekly magazine. Boat trip on the Thames - a must. What is Prague like? And anyone stayed at Hotel U Divadla?

Q) My boyfriend mentioned going on a city break next year Ive found something in the paper today what sounded good. 3nights at the above hotel (3*B + B) in March, in Prague for £120 each (incl flights from manchester). Ive heard that its a nice place but when I mentioned it to him he said he doesnt fancy it as its just full of stag dos and strip clubs! Is this true? I know its got popular with stag dos but that cant be it can it?? Please help so I can get him to go! Im 23 and hes 26 by the way! x

A) Prague is lovely! Yes, there are strip clubs, but they aren't that obvious. I was there last week for a week and didn't see any stag parties, but then it was my second visit and my husband and I have our favourite places to go to anyway. I recommend getting the DK Eyewitness guide for Prague and you'll see exactly why it's such a popular tourist destination - and not for stag parties or strip clubs.

What kind of holiday would you prefer this time of year?

Q) A break in a city? Beach holiday with a lot of heat and sun? Somewhere exotic and far away? Or a holiday in a place more wintery than England, with a lot of snow? I would need a relaxing beach vacation where it is as hot as it can get.

What are some good things to do in new york city? We are a mid 20's couple visiting over the new year break.

A) It is bitter cold in NYC on New Year's Eve. Even with hat, boots, gloves and scarf, you will be freezing. As for Times square, you have to get there early and the police lock people into cages for security reasons, so don't drink too much liquid before you enter Times Square. There is a lot of camaraderie among the people in Times Square. They won't have it New Year's Eve, but The Four Seasons, which is one of the finest restaurants in NYC, has a pretheater fixed price dinner for $65 a person, everything from appetizer to dessert. It is a great bargain, but the liquor there is expensive. Make the reservation to be seated by 6 PM. The telephone number is 212-754-9494. Be sure to buy theater tickets discount on line from one of many sites you can use (you can search yahoo answers completed questions on NYC for different sites and for good hotels to stay) You can spend two days doing the Metropolitan Museum of Art with the armor, the mummies and the old masters. It is a delightful place. Go shopping at Century 21, across the street from Ground zero. Go to the Museum of Natural History and see the exhibit on evolution of man. Take the subway every place you go, it's cheaper and faster. NYC is the only city in the world where the subways run 24/7. Eat dim sum Sunday morning in Chinatown. There are tons of great ethnic restaurants and not just in Manhattan. Don't forget Queens and Brooklyn. There is one night a week the Museum of Modern Art is free. Check their website.

How do i convince my parents to let me go on spring break to panama city beach.?

Q) I am 18 and I need to know the best way to convince my parents to let me go to panama city beach for spring break. Last year my mom let me go but it was with a friend and his mom and we didn't go during spring break, we went during the summer. I need to convince my mom to let me go without a parent and during spring break. Or should I even ask my mom, should i ask my dad?

Q) I'd like to find out when pre-school, elementary and high schools start in the following cities: - Phoenix, AZ - Jacksonville, FL - Greenville, NC - Greenville, SC I'd also like to know the dates of the holiday breaks as well. Q) dance schools. Any ideas?

A) Ahhh... but you have internet., and probably a TV. There are tonnes of videos on YouTube or on other dance sites. Music videos on TV and DVD and dance movies like Take the Lead, Honey, You Got Served, have amazing dance scenes to learn from. Download a couple videos, watch, copy, practise with a mirror if possible. Dancing makes life better.

Planning a Spring Break Trip to Panama City?

Q) About 5 of my girlfriends and I are planning a trip for 3 or 4 days to Panama City for Spring Break... Just a long weekend. My question is, what would be the cheapest way to do this, where should we stay, and cool attractions or clubs that allow 18 year olds and up? Thanks!

A) Just a little tip.do ALOT of research on where ull be staying and how safe it is,my friend was promised amazing accomodation and when they got there it was in a dangerous area and the hotel was falling apart,just make sure people are honest with you when you are doing your travel arrangements.

What should a small group of 17 year old girls do on a 4 day trip to New York City?

A) Be very careful...use the buddy system. DO NOT hook up with strange guys at some club. DO NOT leave ANY food or drink unattended.

Can someone give me the name of a hotel in Panama City Beach Florida that would allow 18 year olds to stay?

A) Take a look at "thebeachloversbeach.com",this site gives a lost of motels-hotels and condos. Florida has a age limit of 25 to rent a room. Easy wat around it would be to have your parents to rent the room for you.-,They do not have to be there.The security deposit would be higher though.

Does anyone know how to legally break a year rental lease?

Q) We moved into a home, we are paying $2400 a month and it is rat invested! Also, when we moved in, the house was not clean, i spent three days cleaning it. There are a number of repairs not made. We have notified our landlord of these things and nothing is being done. We have only been here two months and we did not pay this last months rent. We just provided them with a letter of intent to move within 30 days. I have notified the city which we live in and made a complaint about the rats. Does anyone know if there is anything else we can do to protect ourselves?? Can we legally break this lease??

A) The city doesn't care about rats, you need to put out traps. You may be able to break the lease, depending on what the repairs are that you are talking about. They need to be serious hazards though. Do not withhold rent, this is not legal in the US. You are obligated to pay while you are there and likely for the remainder of your lease. If you take this to court you will loose the case, it is better to work something out before hand. In order to get his $ from you the landlord will need to legally evict you, even after you moved out, this will show up on your credit report and credit more then rental problems in the future.

I will be in Park City, UT for New Years, any suggestions for a good time that won't break the bank?
