Buying train tickets for Austrian holiday?

Q) Hi, We am planning a one week holiday to Austria between 17-24 December this year. Note I have already received some excellent responses to an earlier question regarding what to do - just need to sort the transport out now! All I need to know now is how do you book train tickets within the Austrian network? We are going to be based in both Salzburg & Vienna, but will need to buy a return to Vienna from Salzburg. Is it necessary (and cheaper) to buy them in the UK before we go? Or just wait until we arrive in Salzburg? My only concern is not being able to secure tickets once we are there (not sure what the demand is like), or it may be more economical to purchase beforehand. Thanks

A) Buy a Tourist ticket online before you go. It gives unlimited travel between specified dates, far better value than buying individual tickets if you plan lots of journeys...;

A) If you don't want to go back to Salzburg, which would be a great option, I would suggest Vienna for all the things you're looking for.

Q) Its my nana and grandad's golden wedding anniversarry. My nana has allways dreamed of going to Austria since she was 18. My grandad has allways wanted to return to Switzerland after he went when he was 10 years old. How can I book a holiday for both of their needs? Please help!
